How did that stain appear? It just happens. One moment your project is clean and stain free. All of a sudden,a drop of blood, ink or oil appears. What can you do to take out your unwanted stains? Try some of the following solutions.
505 Spray Adhesive -- 505 is a spectacular, spray adhesive to use when sticking my fabric to my stabilizer when I am stitching motor exaggeration designs. But occasionally some of the adhesive gets sprayed on the fabric. Sometime it is caused by some residue left over from spraying too much on the stabilizer in the hoop.
Use 90% rubbing alcohol (not the drinking kind :)) to get 505 out of your fabric or project. The 90% is important; not all shop stock that percentage. The lower ration bottles will not be as sufficient as the 90%. Look for this in the pharmacy departments of most stores. If you still cannot get the stain out with the alcohol, try using Ecover Citrus Cleaner & Degreaser. It's an oil based cleaner that can be found in many shop or online.
To forestall this, all the time spray your stabilizer, not your fabric with 505. Avoid spraying too much 505 on the hooped stabilizer before sticking the fabric on top of it.
Blood -- Yes, I try to keep my fingers away from sharp objects, but invariably a pin, needle, pair of scissors or rotary cutter finds its way straight through to my skin, drawing whether a drop or a bucket of blood. When I can't get my project out of the way in time, a red spot appears.
Treat the stain right away with hydrogen peroxide. Use a cottonball or clean cloth to blot the stain with the peroxide. This will categorically take out the blood. Rinse in cold water and treat again if needed. Other selection is your own saliva. Your own saliva has enzymes that will treat your own blood stains. I know it's not the most lively thing, but it does work!
What's the prophylactic performance to take for this kind of stain? Just keep your fingers away from sharp objects! :)
Ink pen or motor oil -- Ink pens are all nearby my sewing room and as hard as I try to keep them contained to one table, they tend to walk toward my fabric. motor oil will sometime get on my fabric after I have first oiled my machine.
Any oil based cleaner in your laundry cabinet will take out most ink and oil stains. I like to use Ecover Citrus Cleaner & Degreaser or De-Solv-It; they both work very well with ink and oil stains. I will get the stain out of the fabric with the cleaner and then wash it with some soap and water to be sure I have removed all the remaining residue. There could be a little ring or shadow created if not all the cleaner is rinsed out. You can find both these products in many stores.
Try to keep ink pens away from your fabric and projects. Throw away any pens that leak or leave blobs of ink. To keep oil stains to a minimum, sew a scrap of fabric straight through your motor after oiling it. Keep sewing until oil doesn't appear on your fabric. If your motor sits unused for any hours or a combine of days, you may need to stitch on a fabric scrap before sewing on your project.

Planning to remodel, repair or build a new home? looking for some
terrific features to contain that can save you tons of time in shortcuts,
efficiencies and saved steps? We can help! We started collecting over
1,000 uncommon, affordable convenience built-ins in 1998, when we
first began writing books and consulting to help citizen have truly
extraordinary -- but affordable -- homes. Here are some of our popular
ideas that'll turn your life via the time they save you. Add any of
these to your next project, and you'll be on your way toward creating a
home that's truly beyond the ordinary!
o A shallow closet or weatherproof cabinet at every outdoor hose faucet,
for storing a hose at an easy-to-reach height where it will stay relatively
clean, out of sight and out of the way. No more risk of tripping over a
hose left in a heap on the ground! (And even recoiling and flat hoses
can be awkward and dirty to move from faucet to faucet, especially if
they're stored outdoors.) This makes gardening a snap, as well as
hosing down the deck, patio or outdoor furniture, or washing windows.
You'll also want flooring inside that prevents the safe bet drips from
encouraging mold.
o A non-porous, nonskid, self-leveling garage floor coating, so that soil
and oil can really be hosed away. (If you have a drain in the floor and
flooring that slopes toward it, use a similar coating that's not self-
leveling.)
o A sewing engine permanently plugged in and set up on a desk or
inside a well-lit closet or alcove. Be sure there's space behind the
machine for the fabric from large projects to accumulate.
o Remote-controlled window shades, especially on hard-to-reach
windows or skylights. Choose among remote controls that can be
operated manually; via a timer or photocell; or through any on-site or off-
site computer, personal digital assistant or cell phone. Also being
safer than attempting to reach out-of-the-way shades by hand, easy-to-
maneuver shades help operate light and heat in a room, minimize fading
of a room's or closet's contents, and the self-acting or off-site controls
can make an empty house appear occupied.
o Dedicated space for wrapping gifts that's near where you store your
wrapping supplies and tools. No more hauling stuff around!
o A doorbell intercom face the door that can be answered from every
telephone in the house (also via your cell phone while you're out). No
more dropping all to run to write back the door!
o Shallow shelves with only one row deep of canned or dry goods,
medicines, supplies, tools or equipment, for instant identification of and
access to whatever's stored. These can often be tucked into a space
that's otherwise unused.
o At least one full bathroom on every level of the house.
o A laundry chute from closets, cabinets or bathrooms to a laundry room
on a lower level. No more hauling dirty laundry down stairs when gravity
will do the job! And no more dropping items on the way to the laundry
room that you might trip over!
o A pot-filler faucet attached to a wall near your cooking burners, that
swivels into varied positions as well as out of the way. No more arresting
heavy pots of water from the sink to the stove!

Several decades ago, a young bride purchased an old cabinet with thick white paint dripping nearby some colorful Mexican decals. When the father of the bride saw what she'd purchased, he expressed his discontentment in her selection and his shock at spending 55 good dollars on something his family had thrown out decades before. So it was in the late 1960's: while the youth of the day was trying to find their own "style", the humble Hoosier Cabinet was reborn and found a new life in new surroundings.
Our first home was as humble as our first piece of furniture: a flimsy clapboard house with no kitchen cabinets. Hooray for the Hoosier cabinet. It served as a morning meal counter and pantry. Before long we moved, and the cabinet got a new paint job; antiquing was all the rage and made quite an improvement.
With it's new antique paint job, the cabinet moved into the tiny aid porch over from the washing motor and became the sewing center; it held all things from spools of thread to lengths of fabric, and the pull out, enameled top served as a exquisite surface for the sewing machine.
In time, we moved to our first home, and put the cabinet in the dining room and served as the bill paying desk with fullness of organized storehouse for stationary, pens, stamps and bills waiting to be paid. Later, the new piano arrived and took the space in the dining room; we moved the cabinet to the kitchen where, once again it served as a morning meal counter and storehouse for cereals, bowls and all things breakfast.
Finally, we moved to the new house we built here locally, and the cabinet got a final strip down of its antiquing. We refinished it in its original, beautiful, oak glory; we sure miss those customary latches and hinges though. The old Hoosier Cabinet sits once again in the dining room and houses of all things, crystal glassware, table linens, and candles and on occasion, root vegetables in the tin bins.
One piece of furniture can have many uses over the procedure of its lifetime. One need only keep an open mind and re-think, re-purpose and re-use some old favorites.
